There are many ways to get involved, from fun lunches to school events, we always welcome extra hands! You can also reach out to your child’s teacher to help with classroom activities or tasks. It’s a great way to see your child in action!

Before volunteering, please ensure your Police Clearance is complete. If you don’t have one, contact the school office, it’s quick, free, and valid for 5 years. Call us at (403) 777-6789 for details.

The QES School Council and Parent Society meet most months to discuss what’s going on in the school, to hear principal and teacher reports, and to discuss fundraising and the spending of our fundraised dollars.

(Teacher reports are a highlight as you really get insight into what is happening in your child’s classroom, and the thought behind the lessons and activities. Highly recommended!)

Spring Family Gala 2026 – Coming This Spring!
Our annual and highly anticipated Gala at Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Centre is the school’s main fundraiser, supporting everything from classroom supplies to field trips.

We rely on many volunteers each year, for planning, organizing, and event-day help. Volunteer sign-up starts in spring, so keep an eye out if you want to get involved!

Approximately every 18 months, QES has the opportunity to staff a casino for a weekend. This two day event raises around $70,000 for our school to use to enhance and enrich our children’s learning. The funds from this event have paid for numerous residencies, Phys.Ed equipment, computers, class sets of iPads and iPods, other technology as well as software for said technology, plus much more.
